Lately it feels like there is nothing but doom and gloom in the press about the state of Ireland's affairs..we are used in the same breath as Greece as an example of 'How not to run a country' so it's so refreshing to see that locally the people of Ireland haven't lost faith. We are positive, looking towards the future for our children.
And that's what is so endearing about an exhibition currently showing on the top floor of the St Stephen's Green Shopping Centre by the Musical Youth Foundation.
Their mission 'To provide every child on the Island of Ireland with access to a musical education' led them on to an exciting and endearing project.
Old, used and in some cases broken instruments donated by the public and shops from around Ireland are the focus of this exhibition. After 6 months lovingly sanding down the instruments; artists, musicians and creative minds alike were invited to use them as a canvas to create the world’s first Instrumental Art Exhibition.

High up above the streets of Dublin city centre (with views of the park which in any other situation could distract you) you follow the musical notes to each space...each turn surprised by more instruments expressed in so many different ways.
But I saved the best until last, my sisters boyfriend, created a beautiful piece...inspired by a song which holds many fond memories for me. A fitting end to a wonderful art and musical concept 'We All Stand Together'
